Belgium Positions Itself at the Heart of Artificial Intelligence

The European Commission has just announced the selection of seven Member States, including Belgium, to host “AI Factory Antennas” or local branches of “artificial intelligence factories.”

This selection is part of the European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC), which was created several years ago to develop a pan-European supercomputing infrastructure.

Each antenna will be connected to different “AI factories,” and the one in Belgium will be connected to those based in Finland and Germany.

This future Belgian AI Factory will primarily serve startups, SMEs, and research organizations such as universities, but will also be accessible to larger companies. Significant spinoffs in fields such as space, astronomy, and defense are also envisaged.

A wonderful project is coming to fruition for Belgium!
