NBCC Hosts Belgian Company Ecoplast Europe for Strategic Partnership Discussions in Lagos

Last week, the Nigerian-Belgian Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) welcomed Ecoplast Europe, a leading Belgian manufacturer of eco-friendly school and office products, to Lagos for a strategic business visit aimed at exploring partnership opportunities within Nigeria’s growing sustainability and recycling sector.

Ecoplast Europe, known for its eco-conscious product lines, including items made from PET-PCR, PP-PCR, biodegradable PP, and PLA bioplastic, has spent over 20 years championing environmentally responsible production. Their work aligns strongly with several UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly waste recovery, recycling, job creation, and environmental protection.

During the visit, Ecoplast Europe met with a selected group of Nigerian organisations driving innovation in recycling, waste management, and sustainable manufacturing. These included:

  • Delams Team

  • Mike Tilde Recycling & Waste Management

  • Representatives from Aluko & Oyebode

  • WVL Advisor Team

  • Sana Group Team

The meetings focused on potential collaborations in eco-friendly product manufacturing, waste recovery, and local distribution partnerships to bring Ecoplast’s certified sustainable products, including planners, school kits, geometric sets, hygiene kits, and PET-PCR accessories, to the Nigerian market. Several of these products already carry international certifications such as INMETRO and ABNT Ambiental, reinforcing the company’s credibility in global sustainability standards.

NBCC facilitated these engagements as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthen bilateral trade relations between Nigeria and Belgium. The Chamber continues to create platforms that enable international companies to connect with credible Nigerian partners, foster local industry growth, and advance environmentally responsible business practices.

As interest in sustainable materials and recycling deepens in Nigeria, collaborations like this signal a promising future. Ecoplast Europe’s alignment with Nigeria’s evolving environmental and educational needs positions them as a strong potential partner in the country’s shift towards greener production models.

NBCC looks forward to supporting next steps and ensuring that the relationships formed during this visit translate into impactful, sustainable business outcomes for both nations.
