Belgian directors break several world records with new film

It’s been widely known for years now that Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah make some banging movies. Their films are loaded with excitement. They never bomb in the box office. The dynamic duo has broken two world records with their latest film.

As you can guess from the introduction, the records have something to do with explosives. This should come as no surprise, as their big Hollywood break was the then-latest installment in the Bad Boys franchise, and their Belgian films have touched on topics like gang violence.

Both records achieved in Adil and Bilall’s latest movie, 7 Dogs, were previously in hands of the Bond franchise. First of all, the greatest explosion in a film, which was held by Sam Mendes’ Spectre, was obliterated. Where the explosion in Spectre had a force of around 68.47 tonnes of TNT, Adil and Bilall blew it away with a 170-tonne explosion, which is more than double. Second, the most explosions in one take could previously be admired in 2019’s No time to die, in which 130 kilogrammes of explosives were set off; 7 Dogs rises above that, but it’s not clear by how much.
