Created in 1991, Cronos achieves an annual turnover of nearly 800 million euros. A real success story for this group, which has become sprawling by operating in the digital transformation of companies. 6,500 employees work there, including 900 people hired in the past year alone. And their future prospects seem very promising in the cloud computing sector (very schematically: being able to use IT resources without owning them). The activities linked to this type of service indeed generates growth of more than 100% per year according to Dirk Deroost, CEO of the Cronos group.
By signing a multi-million euro contract with Microsoft, Cronos is now one of the few companies in the world – and the only Belgian one – linked by a “Multi-Year Data Center Agreement” with the American giant. A non-exclusive partnership since “we will continue to sell cloud solutions from Amazon and Google, but with this contract we will be the biggest specialists in Microsoft’s Azure cloud in Belgium”, explains Dirk Deroost.
